English Immersion Camp

Coordinates: 35.114530812367484,135.94408288764953

Since Monday I am working at an English camp for Japanese children organized by Kumon. The camp is at a hotel next to Lake Biwa, which provides an amazing view during breakfast. At the camp we have 88 children who are between 8 and 12 years old. Together with around 20 other students from 20 countries and 10 staff members we entertain the kids all day by using English. It is a very good way to reduce the children’s shyness and to get them in touch with foreigners.

After the six days we will have half day off and then conduct a second camp which will run for four days.

I cannot post any pictures, but the official website can be found here: http://www.immersioncamp.com/

Study Project: Class Blog

I’m taking a course called “Asia Pacific Relations” in which we run a class blog. Every student has to publish 5 posts during the semester and give feedback to other posts. This interactive learning tool is quite new to me. And today I published my first post.

You can find the blog here:

Also interesting: check out the new links I have added in the sidebar!

Update: Our professor closed the blog and it is not longer accessible now. If you have any questions regarding this project, feel free to contact me!
